Introduction to Postnatal Pilates Course

Our Introduction to Postnatal Pilates course is our recommended and most popular starting point when returning to physical activity after childbirth. A progressive course that takes you from the all important fundamentals, towards greater strength, stability and confidence.

Our course includes:

  • Introductory group Zoom call: Get to know your course mates, learn about how pregnancy and childbirth can affect things like your pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, and posture, learn tips and techniques to help you throughout the course

  • Postnatal Pilates Classes: A series of 6 postnatal Pilates classes in our mat studios here at Lavant House. Whilst there is a general programme of progression, Gina will tailor the classes and exercises with the needs of each individual attendee in mind to help you get the most from the time you put in.

You will also receive access to our online Postnatal Pilates client zone, including a pre-course introductory video and other resources to help support you on your journey.

Private Sessions

The Pilates apparatus system is wonderful to work on after having a baby due to the wonderful support and feedback it offers.. This can be especially helpful if you are feeling a little disconnected from your body.

We welcome postnatal clients to work with us in the apparatus studio. You can book private sessions on a 1:1 basis, or even buddy up with a friend/s for private duet or trio sessions. Depending on whether there are any other sessions going on in the studio at the same time, you may even be able to bring your baby along with you to a private session if you need to. Gina is always happy to give baby cuddles whilst teaching!

Work at your pace, according to your body’s needs in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Session fee*: £55-65 (1:1) / £38pp (duet) / £28pp (trio)

*Based on drop in rates. 4 session pass available offering slightly reduced per class rates.

We believe that postnatal recovery isn’t just about the first few weeks or months. It is a journey of understanding your body; the changes it has gone through and the changes it continues to go through as you restore, recover and progress. Motherhood is a physical activity, and one that requires us to feel strong, mobile and confident. We will continue to support you throughout your Pilates journey with us, beyond those first initial steps.

Mum & Baby Friendly Class: We hold a Mum & Baby friendly Pilates mat class on Monday mornings. This is a traditional style mat class, the only difference being that you are welcome to bring your baby along to this class if you need to. We started this class as an option for those who wanted to continue Pilates mat classes after their postnatal course but didn't not have childcare options or circumstances that enabled them to do this.

Follow On Classes

Pilates Group Mat Classes: We run traditional style Pilates mat classes throughout the week, including daytime and evening classes.

Pilates Group Apparatus Classes: We run group apparatus classes throughout the week including weekdays, evenings and Saturdays. Classes are tailored to the individual attendees. An induction of 4x private sessions is required to join these classes (induction can be done as duet/trio on request).
